Midnight's Song Playlist #7.

For the first time in...FOREVER (ehem, no 'Frozen' puns intended) I am posting an addition to the Midnight's Song playlist. Since it's been such a long time, I think I'll once again remind you what the Midnight's Song playlist is:

The Midnight's Song playlist is a series of posts I make that include music that inspired/reminds me a great deal of my novel Midnight's Song and its characters. They include, but are not limited to, instrumentals that I listened to while writing, stuff that I listen to while fantasizing that I am indeed in the books, and/or songs that seem like they could be character theme songs.

As the highlighter would indicate, today we are going to focus on a song that seems like it could very well be a character theme song. (Just as a warning, the vast majority of the songs I've posted so far are either Florence + the Machine or Of Monsters and Men. This is no exception).

Today's song is...*drumroll please*

#7. No Light, No Light by Florence and the Machine

I chose this song because I consider it to be Faolan's theme song. I mean, listen to it! Listen to those lyrics! "No light, no light in those bright blue eyes!" Okay, well, Faolan's aren't blue per say. They're silver. Silver would indicate grey in human eyes, which is considerably a shade of blue. See - there we go. It fits. Well, sort of. Despite that, it makes me picture Faolan's character nearly every time I listen to it. It suits him and his place in the story quite well. Especially that vibe it gives off about not being able to get away from this mysterious character..."You are the hole in my head, you are the space in my head, you are the silence in between what I thought and what I said." Faolan is the self-proclaimed "Bringer of Nightmares," and has an essence that is so dark that it jolts Elissa awake in the midst of her nightmares. The Darkness in him is no match for her goodness.

However, as we will later learn, Faolan was the jealous type even before the curse came on him. He tends to talk very big and execute very brutally - but, you may very well learn in the future that he's not as bad as he believes himself to be (post-Curse). I have plans for Faolan that go beyond what you know about him in Midnight's Song.

Yep, you know what that means...

Sequel. Not just one sequel. Lots of books.

That's right. There is going to be another book! It will be quite a while before you see it, but it will certainly come into existence at some point. I am currently in the prewriting stages of my future novels. All of them.

In the mean time, why don't you check out my novel on Wattpad? It's only about eight reads away from the 1,300 read mark! Your reads DO matter. So do your votes, your shares, and adding it to your public reading lists. The more reads, the more comments, the more votes - the greater chance it has at getting a ranking on the "What's Hot" list and getting the attention that so many people have already told me it deserves! You can read it right here in full and absolutely FREE:

Ashes Cover Contest & Artwork Parade! And - THIS JUST IN - *NEW* developments for MIDNIGHT'S SONG!

Like Oh. My. Goodness.

I have received SO many beautiful covers for my Wattpad story, Ashes. It's a retelling of Cinderella that veers from the original story quite a bit. I didn't give away TOO much of the actual story, but I did give away just enough ; ) Here was the synopsis I gave on the forum:

Isabelle is a troubled young woman with a mysterious past. She lives in a world of castles, nights, magic and fiery dragons. Though, she's never felt that she belonged to it. In her dreams, she sees a world that no one understands; one that only makes sense when her father lay on his deathbed telling her stories of her true origins. Her father - the Duke of Wilona - tells her something that shakes her world forever. Isabelle was not born into their family. She was found as a ragged tot, bound in chains by slave traders in the marketplace. However intriguing this may be, Isabelle's new stepmother is not enchanted by the idea of her threatening her own daughter's potential inheritance. At the Duke's death, she takes over the household and sentences Isabelle to a life of the lowliest servitude. This won't hold Isabelle forever, though - because four years later, she escapes. She embarks on a swashbuckling journey involving a prince, bandits, mermaids, magic, and everything in between.
These were the submissions I received. I know. WOW. They are just, amazing. Even as I write this blog I have to keep on saving it and adding because the submissions keep on coming. At this point in time, I have not reached a verdict simply because they are all so beautiful and unique. I can say with complete honesty that my friends on Wattpad ROCK.

(Please note that these are not arranged in any way that would rank them from least to greatest or greatest to least - I just listed them in this order because of how the fit onto the page when pasted next to each other AND because of the order I was able to locate them in. It's for formatting purposes only).

For some reason, my computer decided to make these very small :( I will try to format them so that they look bigger and you can see them in all of their glory! If you'd like to see larger versions, you can also visit my Wattpad Cover board on Pinterest. Every one of these should also be there!

So, all-in-all (not including multiple variations of some of the covers I received) I have to this date received 26 covers. 26! I would like to do a post bragging about all of them, just like I did with the covers for Heart of Stone and Almost Immortal! All of the covers are winners to me and I appreciate every single one of them. I've promised myself that I'll try to use each one of them in the chapters of Ashes that I post on Wattpad! I've also received some awesome banners from Wattpad user Ashley282! Here are a couple of them!

Banner for Ashes by user Ashley282!

Overall, picking the cover was very HARD! I received so many amazing covers - ones with just as much heart as visual aesthetics. I loved them all so much! I ultimately picked this cover from user xTearsinHeaven:

AshesKeelyVictoria2add_Fotor_zpsb70d1d31.jpg

When I saw this, all I could think was "ISABELLE!" I did have this reaction to a lot of the other covers, but this one especially intrigued me. Still, it was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make on Wattpad - because they were all just so good!

Well, I have to skedaddle. Doctor's appointment today! Got a sore throat :( But, this post was long overdue and I couldn't go one more moment without giving recognition to all of these amazing Wattpad artists and their work! And just so you know - there's been a new development in my Wattpad career ;)

Drum roll please...

I have finally decided to go beyond the preview of Midnight's Song I posted on Wattpad a few months ago. Now, you can read the entire thing from start to finish on Wattpad...did I mention that it's FREE? That's right. This crazy author has gone a step further. You can now read Elissa and Aurelian's adventure in the comfort of your own room using your own laptop to warm your legs. (Despite how awesome this is, don't use it too long. You'll get burned. It's happened to me more than once).

I have posted Midnight's Song in its entirety on Wattpad for your enjoyment. I want EVERYONE to be able to join into the fun! And, I've entered it into the Wattpad Prize 2014 writing contest! Give it a vote, a comment, and add it to your reading list. Tell your friends! Those that have read it will tell you - you will NOT be disappointed. You also get the satisfaction of knowing that in reading this story, you have made someone's day :) That someone would be me! So read away! I love you all!

Want to support this author? Wear some bling. (And some other stuff)

My lovely readers,

As you might guess from some of the hints on the side of the page (The link to purchase my e-book, Cash Crate, Inbox Dollars, and numerous advertisements) that I'm trying to make a little bit of money right now. I'm working hard to save for college. Every penny counts. I've been working, attempting to sell what I can, and do whatever I can to make money for college. I've thought about selling body wraps, handicrafts I make (which I sometimes do here on my Etsy), selling Avon or some other beauty product. I've actually wanted to sell Avon for a long time and will share the information with you when I do start. But for now, I have something else I wanted to share with you.

I've started a store!!!!!! Today I came across a place where I could create a free online boutique and personally pick the jewelry and accessories that I want to sell in it. It's called Kitsy Lane, and it's a place where I can personalize a page and sell really unique jewelry pieces and earn up to 25%-35% on my sales. Though, at the beginning I assume I won't earn near that much. You don't have to buy anything, but if you want to take a look you can visit my store here: Keely's Kitsy Lane Shop.

(And my gosh, I promise it's NOT a pyramid scheme. It's just something that you can do in order to support me when you make purchases on the items you might want).

The items here range in price. Some are on the more expensive side of things, but others are well within range if you want something high quality for a special occasion at a reasonable price. And remember, if you've read any of my past blogs, you'll know that I'm a real person and not a salesman. As advertisement-y and promotional-y as it sounds I promise I didn't copy and paste these words from a promotional letter. If you're beginning to think it sounds like one - I guess I'm just a really good writer. Because, I assure you, THIS IS A REAL THING.

I don't expect to make a lot of money doing this at all, but again, every penny counts. This is my education we're talking here. Everything helps! If you can't buy anything - which I totally understand - just share the shop with people you know. A lot of people haven't heard about Kitsy Lane yet, and what better opportunity to browse what they have to offer than doing so and helping me in the process?!?!?! Win = Win!

They are also reputable to the best of my knowledge, I might add. There are lots of positive reviews out there and sources that helped me determine that they were not a scam. You can also go to the site and play a social media game, so I hear!

If you would like to know about other ways you can support the effort to fund my education (and in many cases actually make a little bit of spending money yourself) you can become my referral on Cash Crate or Inbox Dollars. (It doesn't even have to be "or." You could always do both : ] ) Neither of these things are scams and I have made money using both websites.

I do work on the websites more casually sometimes, more intensely others. The money you can make varies, and you need to make at least $20 (Cash Crate) or $30 (Inbox Dollars) to get your check. The premise of the websites is to fill out offers and surveys that pay you small amounts of money each time.

(Tip: if you're ever doing offers please set up another email address for them. You also should get a Google voice phone number that you can give on offers so that they can remain separate and controlled from your personal phone calls. This keeps your privacy a priority, allows you control over what calls you receive, and makes it easier for you to sort what you're doing on the website.

Other than that, there's absolutely nothing to fear. Just make sure you're educated about everything you're doing, learn the value of "skip" buttons on surveys and make sure that you read the fine print on offers. You don't have to pay them any money on either site unless you choose to do an effort that costs money. Those have bigger payouts, and I've only done them a couple of times. Despite not taking part in those, I've still made decent money for someone that started out as a kid who just wanted to make a little money during the summer).

You CAN make money on the sites, and it's actually a really good thing - but you'd have to work reallllllyyyyy hard to make half a living at it. I've heard of some people who do that, like a single mom who's always blogging on their website. But, that requires a lot of effort that I can't always put into it. You really can't get rich doing Cash Crate or Inbox Dollars. BUT you can make some extra spending money, which helps at times. I've actually made a couple hundred through Cash Crate since I started around 2012. If you join as an active referral through any of the sites, you will be helping me get money for college and helping yourself get some extra spending money! Again, when saving for college, everything counts.

Again, if you want to join under me in any of the websites, you can click on one of these links:

Anyway, I hope that this post was helpful and informative. If you have any questions, please let me know. And remember to visit my Kitsy Lane Shop, Keely Victoria! I do sales every Wednesday night! Later lovelies.

Check out my new blog!!!!

Hello lovelies,

I would like to personally invite you to the gardening blog I started: Enjoy the Grow. (I know, I know. I may have gotten a little too clever with the title). I've been gardening for eons and it's one of my greatest passions in life. I think I love it equally as much as writing and singing, both of which I was made for. One of the key focuses of my blog is the beauty of gardening and the spice of life. I hope that I will see you there.

Love,
Keely

Lights...Camera...Action

I haven't written since January. Can you believe it? I feel the need to say it one more time just for emphasis. January. Okay, I'm satisfied now.

I'm pretty much bursting at the seams right now. With both excitement and with mucus. (I know, ick).

I was up all through the night with a bad cough, sore throat, gagging...etc. Kind of bummed out, really.

Anyway, I have some very exciting news. I'm going to be in *drumroll* a movie! I won't dish too many deets (I honestly don't know enough deets to dish) but I was an extra on Tuesday and got chosen to do a role with some face time (not the app, guys) on Thursday. It was sort of magical. Okay, it was really magical. When the movie comes out, you'll understand just what I mean by that. I will definitely be blogging about it when it comes out, if permitted : ) This is just one more step on my journey as an author, a singer, and an actress. After having done the movie, I feel really at home in the creative arts and excited about the future.

Monica was with me at the shoot on Tuesday, and we had some real selfie action going on. I also realized that every time we take Instagram photos, we take them with our heads in the exact same position.  Then I quickly realized that almost every time I take a picture with a friend or relative, our heads are also in this position. And I just had an epiphany as I realized that this is probably and most logically because the size of pictures on Instagram is sort of tiny.

Examples (all on Instagram)

Never ever fails.

Also wanted to make a shout out to another soul-sister of mine by publicizing our selfies.

^Note that the picture on the end of the row affirms the notion that the frame of Instagram photos is just too small.

I promise that once I become a rock star, I'll take this post down as to avoid either of you being stalked. Unless that stalker is the Phantom. (Okay, not really). I miss you guys. But, I'll see you all soon.

The ladies you see pictured above are my true Dr. Monica Blackwood and Lady Marie-Katherine. Read my book and you'll understand soon enough! They will always have a place in my heart and in the prestigious Devereaux Estate. They are one of the reasons I wrote my book to completion. Without their support, idk where I'd be : ) They are truly gifts from God.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Proverbs 17:17

I feel really excited for what the future will bring, especially for this movie. And as for my book - hasn't been forgotten. There's only excitement in store! Only a couple more months until graduation, so I have to go and work hard on my assignments. And I should also leave and go grab a box of tissues.

*Sniff*

TTFN Lovlies.

Remember to check out my work on Wattpad! This blog is LOADED with links to it, but you can also follow the one I'm including:

I'm a Red Raider!

Hello everybody,

I just found out that I've been accepted into Texas Tech University in Lubbock! I will be entering for the Fall 2014 semester as an English major. As I've mentioned before, I am heading off to major in English and get an all-level teaching certification. I will be minoring in horticulture and rooming with my best friend (and future PhD plant geneticist) Monica; who you've probably heard some about anyway, since Midnight's Song wouldn't be the same without her. She's also one of the only people in the world right now who has read the book in its entirety and probably the only person whose seen it in its earliest and rawest forms beside myself. I owe her a lot.

I'm so excited I can't contain myself! Ahhhsjkhkdjhkdjgkdsjlgajgfkdsjnkfnksgkdjgskjfkasmf,mnvkfngkjdngksjdfksdjflsakfnsdmvnmdf
ngkagjdkgndmfnvnsdvmdsng,angfdsmngksfdklgjalkJFdkgjfalksjgdfklgj

On another note, I will probably end up marrying a cowboy now. Did Prince Aurelian ever herd cows in his time hiding among us humans? There's no way to know...no way to know! But, perhaps "together, we will find out." - Aurelian (sort of paraphrased, since I'm just quoting from memory here since I'm too lazy to have the book right here).

I would not be surprised if Monica and I end up writing a series of novels together in college. We also have made plans to rent a townhome my Sophomore year so that I can have a dog and she can have a python. She made a good point too, that snakes shouldn't be feared - because Satan was not actually a snake, but a lizard. (He did have his legs taken away, after all. And then there's that creepy lizard man from The Amazing Spider-Man. Oh, that Andrew Garfield...)

Anyway, it only makes sense that we should fear lizards instead.

I am so excited for this...I can't do anything but keep on repeating how excited I am.

See you later loves!

-Keely

Adventures in...Stuff.

Hello Loves,

It's been quite a while, I know. It's finally the New Year! I can't believe it! Well, I couldn't believe it about a month ago...now it's almost February. Now I'm sort of used to it.

I know, I'm hopeless. I'm going on a month and five days without posting a single blog. I guess it doesn't matter much, seeing that I'm sure not many people read this. I still love blogging. Love it, I tell you!

Over the last month or so I've been adventuring into the realm of college applications. I have one rejection already. Still, that was hasty compared to the rejections I've been receiving for Midnight's Song. I send out my queries in August and am just now getting my pile of rejections. On a more positive note, I have lots more colleges accepting me than have denied me at this point. *Phew* The choice is in my hands. Or, rather, God's.

I've been looking for a college with a great creative writing program. It's already sort of a given that I'll be doing English. Hopefully I can get a Bachelor's in English with a focus in creative writing as well as a teaching certification. As far as minors go, I know I should probably do something in music - probably voice. But, I also have an immense passion for horticulture. I'm not joking when I say that I sometimes relate better to plants than to certain people.

(Note that I can only relate to them better than *certain* people. I'm not completely antisocial).

Double minor in voice and horticulture? If I like studying in college that much, sure.

Anyways, that's the news I have for today. Comment to let me know that you exist!

- Keely
